Why Not?

I’ve written and shared my words online since the forum and ‘Blogger” days. My first real blog I wrote about my 22 year old self coming to the Lord, having my daughter, getting married, starting my first business, and more.

I shared and wrote about how hard breastfeeding was, how Postpartum depression with my son took me down some dark roads, and how medication may have saved my life. Unknown to me, I had built a dedicated online following of like-minded women that naturally followed me over to LIVE video when Periscope launched in 2015. Let’s just say… it was successful!

For the first time in my life I didn’t have to fit into anyone’s outlined box of ‘what to say’ ‘how to act’ ‘what not to say’… because if the viewer was into it, they’re stay and watch the video, if not, they’d move on. But the ones that were searching the hashtags for video topics like I was covering… those were my lifelong followers, my people, my tribe. To this day, over 10 years later, I am still engaging online with several hundred of you from those early days. (thank you)

Censored and Deleted, but never Silenced

In an era where mainstream platforms are increasingly curating content based on opaque algorithms, Substack offers a refreshing alternative. It's a space that values the free exchange of ideas, even those that challenge conventional wisdom.

I've had firsthand experience with the limitations of other platforms. For over five years, I maintained a blog that served as a repository for in-depth research and critical discussions. Unfortunately, during the pandemic, Google decided to remove my content without warning, erasing years of work. It was a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities inherent in centralized platforms.

Why Substack, you ask?

Substack aligns with my commitment to freedom of expression. Here, you won't find algorithms dictating what you should read or intrusive ads disrupting your experience. It's a platform that prioritizes quality over clicks, substance over sensationalism.

My journey with social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram has been filled with challenges, including ridiculous restrictions on my content and voice. It's clear that these platforms are not conducive to the type of discussions and the topics I write on.

That's why I've chosen Substack as the new home for my writings, podcasts, and other resources. With a growing community of over 2,000 subscribers, it's evident that there's a demand for a space that respects both creators and readers alike.

So, whether you're here for the free content or you're considering contributing and accessing the paid, know that you're joining a community that values intellectual curiosity, open dialogue, and respectful discourse.

I look forward to embarking on this journey with you.
